Meeting Hulu

We met Hulu today. Nina and I got off the bus and went to the car. Hulu was waiting in the passenger footwell. Nina got into the back. Immediately Nina and Hulu met each other over the console. It took Sara and I a little bit to get both girls settled in their respective places. We drove to the coffee shop. Although the temps were in the 50s, we sat outside by the fire pit. It was too noisy inside. The dogs behaved themselves though Hulu needed a lot of encouragement to be still. She is still learning. ...

Looking Forward to Meeting Hulu

Sending Mail

***Narrative You can skip this part if you only want to know how to get sending mail working on your pi. There was a person who contributed to Hacker Public News (I think they used a fictional character’s name) who once wrote that all instructions on the Internet had incorrector missing information in their tutorials. I certainly have found this to be true in this extended saga. In my physical space, I have a pi at a computer stand on one side of the room and a ChromeBook on the other. I did a lot of walking back and forth. I use the ChromeBook to search the Internet and copy items of interest. Now when I search, I always get an AI overview. In general, I find these overviews to give me the information I need, but not this time. The information was often outdated or incorrect. ...

Now This is Sad

I have worked steadily for a number of days trying to get =ablog= to work. I followed several tutorials, spent a long time on [[https://readthedocs.io][readthedocs.io]] and almost had it. But then I wanted to change a little here and a little there and well, I never could get it to work again. Now this is probably not =ablog’s= fault. I don’t understand =Sphinx= and I’m a little shaky with restructured text, but I can get [[https://jupyter-book.org][Jupyter Book]] to work so I don’t understand what happened here. It looked so simple!

A Long Morning Walk with Nick

Nick, my Seeing Eye dog, and I took a walk this morning. Now I know that taking a walk with your dog is not a novel experience for any dog owner. What was significant about this walk was that it took place immediately after my breakfast and before my exercise class at the senior center. Normally I would have listened to my podcast app while sucking down at least one large cup of coffee. Instead, I skipped my morning coffee and got walking. ...

Lion and Lamb

I’m proud to be Celtic today, but then I’m proud to be Celtic every day. It was incredibly warm today. I wore a sweatshirt outside and was too hot. We took a very long walk with panting and everything. We went to Regent Street via the Arbor item. Dogs and their people were everywhere and all the dogs misbehaved. I guess they are thinking it has been a long winter, too. ...

Rainy Day

It’s been very warm here. It won’t last, of course. Much of the snow has melted. There are large expanses of water to walk through. Elwood and I have been able to take some long walks. We’ve gotten very wet. yesterday i was able to go out only in a sweatshirt. But today it rained and we did not go out. Elwood was very annoyed with me. I’ve been annoyed with my computer so we haven’t been good company for each other.
